I live with a redneck. I’m pretty much a redneck too by association….
Last week my husband and I were talking about moving the playhouse. Steve thought he would like to wait until the snow was on the ground, give his buddies a call and they’d move the house and then go snowmobiling the rest of the day. Fine. No problem. Last Thursday I see him clearing out the site by the playhouse. Next I see him go into the neighbor’s barn behind the house. I went into another room to do something and then hear a chainsaw. I just assumed he was chopping up the last of the balcony of the playhouse and other scrap wood for the firepit. Next thing I hear is this great big BOOM. (I’m really beginning to hate that noise this week. Between the TV tower and the coffee table, I’ve had enough of booms thank you very much. ROFL) I go running out to see what the hell was going on and I see this….

The playhouse is no longer on it’s stilts. It has fallen over because SOMEBODY (dumbass) chainsawed the stilts down without the help he said he needed…
It’s times like this I tell myself he has rectal crani-itis. He’s an incredibly smart man who does incredibly boneheaded things sometimes.
Anyway the boom was loud enough for the next door neighbor to come flying out to see what the hell was going on. Into the barn he goes; fires up the tractor and then the journey begins. I’m taking pictures because I cannot stop laughing. Laughing at Steve and his rectal crani-itis and laughing at Greg on the tractor because a few times his face said it all. ROFL!!

Thankfully the neighbor has a 4×4 tractor. He chained up the toppled playhouse and pulled it right side up and then they decided to drag it to it’s new home by the pool.

While it was toppled over he put wooden “skis” on the playhouse so they could drag it on the lawn & not tear up the grass because if you knew Steve & my neighbor Greg they are DEAD serious about their lawns. That’s a whole ‘nuther blog post on it’s own though…ROFL!! While it was being dragged, I kept singing the theme to Rawhide. “Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’ …keep that playhouse rollin’…”

At this point I was in stitches. Steve was pushing like crazy and grunting quite loudly. I kept thinking to myself “Buddy…it’s being dragged by a tractor. You don’t need to push”. He saw me laughing and told me “shut up, he was steering”, at which point I had to wipe my eyes because I was just howling with laughter…. I probably should be a more supportive wife sometimes and not make fun of him but dammit this was just too freakin’ funny….

This is where it got really tricky because it was going uphill. They wasn’t a lot of room for the tractor to manoever and the playhouse needed to be stabilized. Out came the bar clamps and Greg made a run to his Dad’s farm to grab a ton of chains otherwise if they moved it further it would come toppling over off the foundation again and there would REALLY be some cussin’.

The back end of the playhouse. Amazingly enough the glass skylights didn’t even crack when the house toppled over. The front is damaged a little. It fell over onto a post and there’s a hole near the door.
(I’ll continue this silly story in another post….It’s in place but it still has to come off of it’s skis/stilts. The adventure continues..)
This weekend was busy. Saturday Steve and Greg worked on the playhouse while I tidied up the house, did some laundry, took Julie to dance and then we had friends come over to give Julie her birthday gift. These friends are Julie’s godparents and they gave her the BEST birthday gift. A pair of silky penguin jammies, a pink hat and T-shirt & a pink fishing rod with a reel that lights up. That fishing rod was a HIT. I took a picture but I haven’t got it off the camera yet. Hopefully I will remember today sometime. Greg’s (neighbor with tractor) dad has a fully stocked fish pond on his property and he gave Steve and Julie permission to go fishing in it provided they catch and release. They have gone a few times and have had a blast. We went out for Chinese for supper and had a really nice visit with them.
Sunday Steve had to work days so Julie and I were on our own but definately not slothful. ROFL We got cleaned up and then drove into Hamilton to Copps Coliseum for the annual Dofasco Kids Christmas party. Each kid up to the age of 14 gets a gift from the company. They get to pick it out too. We got there a little bit early. I actually didn’t get lost either. (I can get lost in a paper bag and one way streets screw me right up). I even got parking right in front of the Coliseum. We had to wait outside for a few minutes until it opened but that was okay. We get in and the fun began. Julie didn’t want to skate around the 50 foot Christmas tree but we did have fun looking at the sights . She was chilled (because the twit didn’t bring her gloves for the wait outside) so we had some hot chocolate and candy floss and then got accosted by 15 clowns giving all the kids candy. She went home with a purse full. ROFL!! For the gift she chose an art set in a hardwood case which is right up her alley because she is drawing ALL the time. After she had enough of the party, we went up the mountain to have lunch at Swiss Chalet. The company gave all the employees a gift card so Julie and I went out for a nice lunch. When that was done we went to Indigo so she could spend her gift cards that she got from her birthday party and then we went to Walmart to spend her final gift card. She bought 2 pairs of shoes. A pair of silver sparkly ballerina flats and another pair of black & silver shoes. The child LOVES her glitter…ROFL!!! We came home finally in late afternoon and vegged. Next thing you know there is a knock on the door and it’s our neighbor with a loaf of warm banana bread and an invitation to their Christmas open house. Thanks Greg!!! Anyway Steve stayed in the city at his friend Sheila’s place because we are babysitting their dog for 10 days. Sheila and her family have gone to Jamaica for the holidays so their dog Sunny will be coming here until they get back along with Sheila’s Lexus. My redneck truck is staying in Ancaster at her place. ROFL! Steve and the dog come home today so the cats will have a warm beastie to cuddle with. Sunny is pretty much crippled up with his hips and is in pain so there will be no walks but there will be LOTS of hair ‘cuz Sunny is a yellow lab and he sheds like crazy….
What’s up for today? Laundry (never ending around here), cleaning and I also have to make a few batches of shortbread and fudge to replace what a certain male has eaten. I have 5 sweet trays to make up and there a huge shortage of sweets. I’ve been really good. I haven’t had one thing out of the freezer. I’m saving myself for turkey..
The Christmas groceries are bought, everything is wrapped and now the mad rush begins…
Before I forget I want to remind you about Kim’s big Christmas sale!

Her whole store is 45% off!! So if there were something’s you were looking for to create some Christmas goodies- I’d grab them now
Both at Digiscrap Obsession and Digi ScrapVault.
Well folks that’s it for me today. I better sign off and get my arse in gear. I have a ton of things I want to accomplish today. Have a good one!!!
