LOL…’cuz let me tell ya, I need the rest. I need the schools to open again. I need a few uninterrupted days to plough through the mess that is this house and get it back in order. I need to spring clean, winter clean and then torch the place. LMAO

The holidays were a blast but freakin’ exhausting. WAY too much time spent in the kitchen. I’ve been living on sammiches because the thought of cooking makes me gag. ROFL!! The child is driving me squirrelly. Can’t entertain herself if her life depended on it and I’m too exhausted to entertain her. LOL Why do we go hell bent for leather over the holidays and then crash and burn? I had a really nice few days with my best friend Connie who surprised me and landed in Sunday night and scared the shit out me in the kitchen. It was just what i needed..to drink tea, talk trash and just “be”. She’s been here often enough that I don’t wait on her. You want something? Get it yourself…LMAO. You’re not a guest, you’re family…move your arse. LMAO!! We undecorated the house, put the Christmas crap away and yakked from the time we woke up to the time we finally dropped at night. It was  a blast!!

The next few days are really nutty with New years right around the corner. We are going to a friend’s place and maybe staying the night. Steve has to work New Year’s Day so we may just come home. Saturday we have to be in Kitchener for the day, back to work on Sunday and then school starts on Monday. It’s never ending. I tell ya Monday when Julie goes back to school, I am going back to bed for the day. :P

Well I have a ton of stuff to do. Julie is supposed to be cleaning her room and I’m on a cleaning tear (which usually means get the hell out of my way or you will be sent to Value Village. ROFL) I’m hoping to be done by next week sometime. Give me a shout if you don’t hear from me for a few days. A dust bunnie may have eaten me….ROFL

Why am I blogging at 3:30 in the morning? ‘Cuz I am wide awake thanks to a car alarm going off and the owner isn’t home. The car is locked up and our neighbor Greg (Tractor Man), doesn’t have the keys to shut his son-in-law’s alarm off so the neighborhood is up. Julie JUST got back to sleep. Don’t know how she can sleep with all the racket (I sure can’t) but I guess when you’re 10 you can sleep through anything when you are tired enough. Unfortunately with my menopausal ass; the slightest noise, hot-flash, bladder trip and I’m up for the day. I can’t get back to sleep for the life of me… I’m half tempted to go running over with an axe and chop the car to bits but then I’d be stuck paying for it.. :P How much do you want to bet Greg will have a spare set of Matt’s keys tomorrow hanging in the garage for future times likes this?! LOL

ROFL!!! This cracked me right up!! My two do this in front of our electric fireplace nevermind a real flame…

Did you have a good Christmas? Did you eat WAY too much? Was Santa good to you? Spill it… ROFL! I will admit I was flippin’ exhausted last night and could barely keep my eyes open for the Christmas movie with John Boy from the Waltons in it…Julie made out like a bandit. She got lots of cool stuff. Board games, Bratz dolls & a DSi from us, slime kit (thnx to my brother for that one), Jewellry tree and jewellry from the neighbors, projection  alarm clock (from Uncle Al & Aunt ‘Retta), jammies and Sudoku books from Steve’s dad and her own apron, utensils and cookbook from my folks. I got wine and chocolates and a gift from Steve that will hopefully be delivered sometime this week. I’ll tell ya what it is then.. Neener Neener. ROFL!!

Steve’s family came here for Christmas dinner. We had a 22 pound turkey that was sooooo good. The best one I’ve done yet. There are a ton of turkey leftovers but I’ll just pop them into the freezer today for a treat in a few weeks. The stuffing won’t make it to the freezer because it’s my favorite (LOVE it more than turkey) and sadly there is only enough left for a stuffing sandwich today and I called dibs….ROFL!! I didn’t get a chance to make Steve’s favorite food, Christmas Morning Wife Saver, for breakfast, however he will get it for supper tomorrow night when he comes home from work. He LOVES that dish. Easy to make and filling too. That will be his treat tomorrow…

Today will be  a lazy day. I’m going to nap, play some Battleship with my kid, do a puzzle and nap some more. It’s a “fend for yourself” day so if ya want to eat apple pie or pickles for breakfast, lunch & supper, go nuts…just don’t bug me to make anything for you. It ain’t happening. ROFL!!

Well I’m going to sign off . It’s now 4:25 am and I need some fresh coffee before I get the pictures from yesterday off the camera. Have a good day folks and I’ll chat with ya soon!!! Mwah!

I live with a redneck. I’m pretty much a redneck too by association….

Last week my husband and I were talking about moving the playhouse. Steve thought he would like to wait until the snow was on the ground, give his buddies a call and they’d move the house and then go snowmobiling the rest of the day. Fine. No problem. Last Thursday I see him clearing out the site by the playhouse. Next I see him go into the neighbor’s barn behind the house. I went into another room to do something and then hear a chainsaw. I just assumed he was chopping up the last of the balcony of the playhouse and other scrap wood for the firepit. Next thing I hear is this great big BOOM. (I’m really beginning to hate that noise this week. Between the TV tower and the coffee table, I’ve had enough of booms thank you very much. ROFL) I go running out to see what the hell was going on and I see this….

The playhouse is no longer on it’s stilts. It has fallen over because SOMEBODY (dumbass) chainsawed the stilts down without the help he said he needed…

It’s times like this I tell myself he has rectal crani-itis. He’s an incredibly smart man who does incredibly boneheaded things sometimes.

Anyway the boom was loud enough for the next door neighbor to come flying out to see what the hell was going on. Into the barn he goes; fires up the tractor and then the journey begins. I’m taking pictures because I cannot stop laughing. Laughing at Steve and his rectal crani-itis and laughing at Greg on the tractor because a few times his face said it all. ROFL!!

Thankfully the neighbor has a 4×4 tractor. He chained up the toppled playhouse and pulled it right side up and then they decided to drag it to it’s new home by the pool.

While it was toppled over he put wooden “skis” on the playhouse so they could drag it on the lawn & not tear up the grass because if you knew Steve & my neighbor Greg they are DEAD serious about their lawns. That’s a whole ‘nuther blog post on it’s own though…ROFL!! While it was being dragged, I kept singing the theme to Rawhide. “Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’ …keep that playhouse rollin’…” :P

At this point I was in stitches. Steve was pushing like crazy and grunting quite loudly. I kept thinking to myself “Buddy…it’s being dragged by a tractor. You don’t need to push”. He saw me laughing and told me “shut up, he was steering”, at which point I had to wipe my eyes because I was just howling with laughter…. I probably should be a more supportive wife sometimes and not make fun of him but dammit this was just too freakin’ funny….

This is where it got really tricky because it was going uphill. They wasn’t a lot of room for the tractor to manoever and the playhouse needed to be stabilized. Out came the bar clamps and Greg made a run to his Dad’s farm to grab a ton of chains otherwise if they moved it further it would come toppling over off the foundation again and there would REALLY be some cussin’.

The back end of the playhouse. Amazingly enough the glass skylights didn’t even crack when the house toppled over. The front is damaged a little. It fell over onto a post and there’s a hole near the door.

(I’ll continue this silly story in another post….It’s in place but it still has to come off of it’s skis/stilts. The adventure continues..)

This weekend was busy. Saturday Steve and Greg worked on the playhouse while  I tidied up the house, did some laundry, took Julie to dance and then we had friends come over to give Julie her birthday gift. These friends are Julie’s godparents and they gave her the BEST birthday gift. A pair of silky penguin jammies, a pink hat and T-shirt & a pink fishing rod with a reel that lights up. That fishing rod was a HIT. I took a picture but I haven’t got it off the camera yet. Hopefully I will remember today sometime. Greg’s (neighbor with tractor) dad has a fully stocked fish pond on his property and he gave Steve and Julie permission to go fishing in it provided they catch and release. They have gone a few times and have had a blast. We went out for Chinese for supper and had a really nice visit with them.

Sunday Steve had to work days so Julie and I were on our own but definately not slothful. ROFL We got cleaned up and then drove into Hamilton to Copps Coliseum for the annual Dofasco Kids Christmas party. Each kid up to the age of 14 gets a gift from the company. They get  to pick it out too. We got there a little bit early. I actually didn’t get  lost either. (I can get lost in a paper bag and one way streets screw me right up). I even got parking right in front of the Coliseum. We had to wait outside for a few minutes until it opened but that was okay. We get in and the fun began. Julie didn’t want to skate around the 50 foot Christmas tree but we did have fun looking at the sights . She was chilled (because the twit didn’t bring her gloves for the wait outside) so we had some hot chocolate and candy floss and then got accosted by 15 clowns giving all the kids candy. She went home with a purse full. ROFL!! For the gift she chose an art set in a hardwood case which is right up her alley because she is drawing ALL the time. After she had enough of the party, we went up the mountain to have lunch at Swiss Chalet. The company gave all the employees a gift card so Julie and I went out for a nice lunch. When that was done we went to Indigo so she could spend her gift cards that she got from her birthday party and then we went to Walmart to spend her final gift card. She bought 2 pairs of shoes. A pair of silver sparkly ballerina flats and another pair of black & silver shoes. The child LOVES her glitter…ROFL!!! We came home finally in late afternoon and vegged. Next thing you know there is a knock on the door and it’s our neighbor with a loaf of warm banana bread and an invitation to their Christmas open house. Thanks Greg!!! Anyway Steve stayed in the city at his friend Sheila’s place because we are babysitting their dog for 10 days. Sheila and her family have gone to Jamaica for the holidays so their dog Sunny will be coming here until they get back along with Sheila’s Lexus. My redneck truck is staying in Ancaster at her place. ROFL! Steve and the dog come home today so the cats will have a warm beastie to cuddle with. Sunny is pretty much crippled up with his hips and is in pain so there will be no walks but there will be LOTS of hair ‘cuz Sunny is a yellow lab and he sheds like crazy…. :P

What’s up for today? Laundry (never ending around here), cleaning and I also have  to make a few batches of shortbread and fudge to replace what a certain male has eaten. I have 5 sweet trays to make up and there a huge shortage of sweets. I’ve been really good. I haven’t had one thing out of the freezer. I’m saving myself for turkey.. :P The Christmas groceries are bought, everything is wrapped and now the mad rush begins…

Before I forget I want to remind you about Kim’s big Christmas sale!

Her whole store is 45% off!!  So if there were something’s you were looking for to create some Christmas goodies- I’d grab them now ;-) Both at Digiscrap Obsession and Digi ScrapVault.

Well folks that’s it for me today. I better sign off and get my arse in gear. I have a ton of things I want to accomplish today. Have a good one!!!

This is Thursday right? Sad when you wake up in the morning and you no idea what freakin’ day it is. Just goes to show you how busy we’ve been lately. It’s right around this time I wish the holidays would just get over already so I can stop, put my feet up and quit running…

Yesterday was an eventful day. I had the cable guys come and permanently attach my transceiver to the house.  Father and son show up and go down into the man-pit to see where all this cable is going to go. Father goes outside to drill through the foundation, son is inside to catch the cables that are being fed in and tack them to the ceiling. I’m upstairs in the kitchen doing dishes. I hear this big smash. Father hears the noise from outside and comes in the house. Son comes upstairs to tell me “Lady, you got a problem“. I go downstairs look at the mess and say “Nooooooooooo, buddy. YOU have the problem.” You see the son had dropped his screwdriver on our smoked glass coffee table and smashed it to smithereens. I looked at the mess , mumbled “oh for f**ks sakes” and went out to the garage for a smoke before I said anything I would regret. They finished their job and then the father came over and gave  me $100 to replace either the glass or the table. I was good with that. The table was 22 years old. Son was whining that he cut his finger on the glass and I just gave him the look that said “Eat shit and die buddy. You wouldn’t have cut your finger if you hadn’t broke the damn table…”. I’m sure the father gave him an earful when they left the driveway. Less than 20 minutes later Steve is out of bed. He couldn’t sleep because he was woken up by a loud noise (the table smashing and drilling into the foundation under our bedroom window). He got 4 hours sleep after being awake for 22. He was bagged.

The birthday girl had a nice day. She was thrilled to bits with the birthday wishes, so I thank you for making her day! You guys ROCK!!!! She came home from school to find a parcel from my folks and she was so excited to get a brand new watch. Steve was out in the garage firing up teh snowmobile to give Mother Nature the not-so-subtle hint that he wants snow. We havent had any since the end of January. Julie went for a walk in the field and then came home on time for dinner (thanks to her new watch). We all feasted on shrimp alfredo and garlic bread as per her request and then she and her Dad played cribbage while I played Spider Solitaire and noshed on choc cake until bedtime. It was really nice to have a quiet family night for a change. ;-)

What’s up for today? I think Steve is cleaning the garage and I’m going to wrap (because I didn’t get it done the other day) and finish loading some stuff onto my laptop. I also have to make some treats for the Christmas party at school tomorrow. Never ending here….

Swing by tomorrow because there is something fabulous going on!!!!!! Just sayin’…. :D

Ten years ago today I gave birth to a drama queen. ROFL! I would love to say I was in labor for days and days but I wasn’t. I went from 1 cm to fully dilated and fully effaced in an hour and a half. A few pushes later the doctor said to stop pushing because she was breech with her legs up around her ears. (If I think about it that is probably how I conceived her…ROFLPIMP!!!) They had to call down and get me ready for an emergency C section but first they had to clean the operating room because the staff were having their Christmas party in there. Are you freakin’ kidding me?! LOL!! Ever tried to STOP pushing?! *snorts* When a baby wants out, it wants out NOW. Forty five minutes later they finally got their shit together and they wheeled me into the operating room, knocked me out and freed Miss Thang from the confines of my body… :P

19991217-2

Just one day old here. I was off the morphine and this was the first time I got to hold her

She was 7 lbs. 6 ozs. and 19 inches long with a  wee tuft of red hear at the back of her head and very long fingernails. They were just screaming for red nail polish!! LOL!! Her dad and I very quickly fell in love with our drama queen. She’s definately Daddy’s girl. I’m good for when she’s sick and I’m the enforcer when she’s being a shithead. ROFL!! All in all it’s been a fun ten years. It has flown by fast and she has made us sooooo proud in all her acheivments and discoveries!!

To celebrate her birthday she asked for her favorite supper. So tonight she’ll feast on shrimp alfredo and garlic bread and leftover cake from her birthday party this past weekend. She’ll open a few small gifts but mostly she will make us smile and laugh and remember that dramatic night 10 years ago….

In honor of her special day I have a few freebies for you. The first is by Shannon who used my Festive kit to create her family Christmas card!

nepark11
