Oh the things we could do if we were rich. My daughter likes to root through the house , underneath tables and cushions searching for gold and treasure. She keeps hoping to find a stash of gold coins but it just isn’t happening. Trust me I have looked already!

I have a little collection of coins but I highly doubt they are worth more than the Ziploc bag I keep them in. No secret stash of bullion although I’m sure if I ever did find a stash of gold bullion on this property you would hear me screaming down south in Kentucky.

I guess we are meant to be hard working folks that live within our means and pin our hopes and dreams on winning the big lottery (or finding that secret stash of treasure…). A girl can surely dream now can’t she?

ROFL….there Diane. Happy now?! LOL

This has NOT been a good weekend for me. Got lots of work done but no cleaning. I had MEANT to play in Photoshop for an hour on Friday, MAX. Ended up stopping at 2:30 on Saturday. Whoopsy! LOL You guys will get the results of that in November..sit tight!! I have decided however that I REALLY need to get new glasses because my eyes have been blurring and watering like crazy. My guess is menopause is throwing my eyeballs out of whack. (just another joy to being an extremely emotional, hot-flashing train wreck  ROFL)

Got the running around done yesterday and then I got blown away by the news of a dear friend’s tragic death. He had been doing some renos and a chunk of drywall fell on his knee. He went to see the doctor and was told it was just a deep bruise, take aspirin for pain and elevate the knee. Turns out a blood clot dislodged and travelled to his brain and he was dead hours later. The guy just turned 42 in June. He had just found happiness with this new woman and then this happens. I feel awful for his two teenagers. Life can be over in a mili-second. Hug your kids tight until they fart a little. You never know if it could be the last one….)

What am I up to this week? Work. LOL. We have to dig up Julie’s  sunflower and deliver it to the school this morning for her entry to the fair. (good. I hate sunflowers in my flowerbeds. Especially when they are tied to my house with rope in two places…) and then I have a project to finish, a scrap for hire project to start and somewhere in there find time to put away 7 loads of laundry, clean the house and make a batch of brownies to suck up for being a lousy housewife this week. Good thing he’s easily bribed with chocolate…

There I said it. Happy now Diane? ROFL Mondays are more my thing but this has been a hellish week and I’m personally glad it’s O-V-A-H.

Did you hear me screaming Monday? Monday I was backing up my desktop. Was pretty grouchy to begin with because Photoshop took over 2 hours to open(with no brushes, actions or styles installed. I install, use and un-install after each project) and it took over 5 hours to burn 1 DVD. I was NOT a happy clam but got everything backed up before I decided to format this pig. Got that done and Windows reinstalled. Installed my browser and go to re-install my favorites that I backed up earlier in the day and the freakin’ computer ATE my backups that were stored on my D drive. Ate the favorites, my address book and the store backup (here’s hoping it doesnt go tits up anytime soon until I can re-download a backup…took me 4 days to download that backup.grrrrrr). F-Bombs were flying everywhere and Kim even said she knew something was up when the windows started to rattle at her place in South Africa. You know I was PISSED. I had old backups of my address book and browser faves so all was NOT lost…just partially lost.Bwahahaha. Finally got everything installed and the bugs out of Outlook Express by early Tuesday evening. I could really use a new one but hubby isn’t falling for the constant hinting. ROFL He thinks memory will fix it. This from a man that barely knows how to surf the web..I have scads of memory in this pig. I think the hard drive is dying ‘cuz everything else is pretty much new. I’ll keep whining…maybe he’ll break. Bwahahaha

Today I’m all mellow and calm…

This is how Snickers sleeps on my legs. She believes in comfort and is great to lower my blood pressure. Kind of hard to stay stressed out when there is a small , warm, furry beastie purring her face off on your body…

Hubs bought me an mp3 player yesterday for my upcoming birthday. His way of saying “crank your dance music and country music and all the other weird shit you listen to….just don’t make me listen to it”. ROFL Now I am in the process of grabbing my favorite songs from a box of CD’s in the fridge downstairs (don’t ask. It’s where he stores shit in the man-pit).

Question: What is your  5 favorite song/s?

I need ideas. Any genre is good. I like it all except death metal and most gangsta rap… I have Nickelback CRANKED right now…can ya hear it?!

Last week I got an email from a friend with the subject line “Hey COW..”. ROFL. Some chit chat and then she asked if I would consider joining her CT?! Now how can I resist when you call me a cow?!  I now email her with the subject line “Hey BOSS COW..” ROFL!!! Thanks Renee for the chuckles!!! So far I’m the ONLY one on her CT, and I am getting bombarded with CU goodness!!! Between Renee and Kim, these South Africans are trying to kill this flabby old Canadian…Bwahahahah

Morning…

I am so tired I can barely function today. On Friday hubby , the neighbor and a friend start stripping our roof. Luckily there was only one layer of shingles but it still took forever. Saturday we had 4 people come out and help so the progress was much better. They had to be fed however and that’s where I came in. Bottomless coffee, lunches and suppers with desserts. I do believe I am officially sick of my kitchen right now. Can these guys ever EAT. The good thing about feeding them is that they leave nothing behind. Dishes were put in the sink and rinsed (all but one have wives that will strangle them if they don’t) and not a scrap left over. (Oh sorry , there are 2 bowls of chili left over). They cut the plum and apple pies into quarters and snarfed those back too. LOL The weather was gorgeous this weekend so it was the perfect time to do the roof. Work started at 8am and stopped at 8pm when the mosquitos came out in droves. Dislodged about 20 hornet’s nests so there were pissed off hornets everywhere. Fun times…

Before the mayhem….

Darrin came out for two days of punishment…. Newfies love to be punished… LOL

Wave to the camera!!!! Brian aka Perv (blue shirt) is Steve’s best friend. Been buddies since they were two months old & their mom’s were neighbors..Greg ( the black shirt) is our next door neighbor. He stayed until late Saturday doing whatever was needed. He’s a worker-bee that man. Holy crap.

Toe Knee (LOL) came out and cut the ridge caps for Steve…

Ryan lives two doors down and came out to work his nads off. He was sicker than a dog too but busted his hiney for 3 days…Thanks Ryan!!

We also had a visitor on Saturday. This is Sid (named for Sidney Crosby). He and his human Ray came for a drive and a wee visit.

Wherever Ray goes, Sid goes, so if that means going on the Harley…so be it!! He’s harnessed in and it is sooo stinkin’ cute! Sid gets all excited when Ray gets the harness out…

And away they go!!!!

Almost done. They have been fed and re-fueled so now they are back to slaving…LOL

And here’s the finished roof. Took 2 hours on the Sunday but it’s done. It’s the last roof that is going on this house (thank Gawd). I went around and picked up bits and pieces and a million nails on the Sunday. The flowerbeds are full of nails so I’ll just go in there this week and pull everything for the winter and clean them out….they have to be winterized anyway… The dumpster will be removed later this week so it will all look normal again. Let the dumpster people  deal with the angry hornets. ROFL

Julie had a friend over yesterday for the last swim of the year. We aren’t heating the water anymore (boo-hoo…but we ran out of logs) and it will be closed for the winter on Thursday. Steve and I are taking it easy this week. We both are exhausted and I STILL can’t look at my kitchen without gagging. It’s calling for rain today and tomorrow (keeping fingers crossed because the cistern is EMPTY and I have 5 loads of laundry to do). We’ll probably have to call for a load of water anyway….so for a few days we sponge bath and grab buckets of water from the pool to flush…fun eh?! LOL

Where the hell has this week gone?  I know where it’s gone. I’ve been a scrapping FOOL this week. I did 6 LO’s this week. Six!!! Holy crap! Wanna see? Do ya? huh?! LOL (OK Kristine…act casual….)

Morning!!! I know I’m perky this morning but I can’t help it. The dog got me up at 5:30 with a cold, wet nose in my eyeball. He didn’t want out. He wanted me to feed him. I got up and made Steve throw him out and feed him. He was up anyway on his way out the door to work. Dumb dog.

This kit is absolutely gorgeous and I was itching to play with it. Didn’t think it was the right kit to scrap deer arses (yanno?!) so I figured the colors were perfect to scrap my food porn from this weekend.
