Hiya folks!!! Let’s pretend it’s Friday OK? (actually it’s Monday night when I’m typing this up..how screwed up am I?! ) Anyway I have a crazy busy day Friday and figure I will be certifiably insane by the end of the day, so I had better do the Friday freebie on Thursday before “madness takes it toll…”

OK Diane…today is not my favorite day and that is only because I’m still slightly hungover…ROFL!!! Nothing like whooping it up to discover you don’t recover as quickly as you did when you were in your twenties… I knew I was in for a great night Saturday,because when I arrived at the party, my crazy friend Marsha had 6 jello shots waiting for me and then we accosted the shooter girls and stole their trays three times…ROFL!! The food was excellent (roast piglet and baby veal & a ton of salads and chocolate fondue…) There was a band who made our night by playing the entire Rocky Horror soundtrack. There was a whole pile of us in the back yard singing (badly I might add) at the top of our lungs and doing the Time Warp in the horseshoe pits. I can only imagine what the neighbors thought about a bunch of bombed broads singing Sweet Transvestite at the top of their lungs at 2 in the morning…

LOL! Too funny!! Got to bed around 3:30. Sunday I felt like death warmed over. Is it any wonder why? Haha!! My clothes were scattered all over the house. Apparently I was doing the Time Warp at home too… There was a certain little cat of mine that was bound and determined to get me out of bed at 7 am so I could feed her. I got up at 7 allright only to lay down on the bed in the guest room. Snickers wans’t impressed. My head and my tummy took their own sweet time feeling better. Ibuprofen and coffee fixed my head, toasted tomato chammich fixed my tummy. Here’s a few pictures (that I didn’t take…snagged them from my friend Jimmy at Facebook..)

View#1 of their back yard. Jim was standing on their 2nd storey deck when he took this. Their back yard is incredible. They have a huge sunken fire-pit in the center of the yard. You walk down 7 steps and you are in this fire-pit, surrounded by twinkling pink quartz. The white lawn chairs are where the fire-pit is….

My hubby and my crazy friend Marsha, of the jello shot fame… (this woman is mental. I have more fun with her than any other. Ask Nikki about a certain evening we had when Marsha came over to get trashed with the girls. I thought Nikki was going to pee her pants.)WAHAHAHAHA

Picked up Julie from her grandparents by 2pm and then headed out to Sheila’s (Steve BFF aka The Other Wife) for a visit. We swam in their new pool, stayed for shrimp then Sheila made spanish rice and tilapia for dinner. It was incredible and I felt a TON better after a swim and good food. We didn’t want to to leave but we draggedour butts back home to get into our jammies and go into a coma on the couch. ROFL. We’re getting too old for this hard core partying… *guffaw*

Today is a relaxing day. Julie is at her friend Owen’s for the day and I’m trying to get some work done on the laptop. I have a busy week ahead and the weekend is crazy so I want to get as much done as I can by Wednesday. *on my knees praying for no distractions*

Bwahahaha!!! If you know me, you know that I don’t get excited by Fridays. MONDAYS are the days that I get wound up. Not this week though. Why you ask? (I know you didn’t ask but humor me none the less ok?) This afternoon I am taking my bored demonspawn into the city to spend the weekend at her grand-dad’s. We will be kidless as of 2pm!!! Yahoooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Saturday we are going to a friend’s for their annual bash. They have a pig & veal roast, live music, huge firepit, free jello shots and much merriment. I can hardly WAIT!!!!! There really should be a law against laughing THAT much with friends from Steve’s work!!! No pictures though folks. There are always moments that you dont want on film kwim??  *snorts* Trust me on this one….

Still looking for candle sconces that I like better but for now, these will do. I could probably make some but I’m too lazy this summer to plan it out…

Holy crap, this bag is stuffed to the gills with all kinds of goodies! I had a ball playing with it. Got a whole pile of layouts done with it and it seemed to kickstart my creativity in the ASS-pirations as well. Woohooo! Grab it before it gets divided up!!!

…go away to Ethiopia. No really. They need it more than we do. Still 4 more days of this crap to go says the weather dude. He needs a slap…..

My daughter has taken over the desktop playing at Club Penguin so I am attempting to scrap on the laptop. No supplies on the laptop so I’m downloading my stuff and a few other things to make do. LOL I have a ton of stuff burned onto DVD but let’s face it folks. I am just too lazy to get up out of my chair and walk into my office to get the things. I might get talked to death by a 9 year old…AGAIN. I’ll take advantage of the peace and quiet for now and make do.

I just got off the phone with the hubby who’s freaking out because the bank account is empty. Literally. The surprise truck repair drained us dry so he’s shuffling things around so there will be enough money to cover the cheque for the hydro. Stupid lemon truck. and the job hunt continues…..ever tried to find a job in a recession? It’s laughable.

In the meantime I put my store on sale to help make ends meet until something real-life turns up. If there was something you had ogled, now is a good time to grab it before I permanently retire some kits!!

Well I’m going to get back to my scrapping and see what comes out of me. Nickelback is cranked so if anything I will be rockin’….

WAHAHAHHAHA!!!!! Morning!!!! I’ve been listening to the blues all week and it’s just the  mood I’m in. I’m groovin’ to Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker , Bo Diddley, louisiana Gator Boys & BB King today. It will be interesting to see what comes out of that combo, design wise…

Got the truck fixed last night. On Sunday I refused to drive it anymore as my brakes failed to work. I smelled a burning smell and then *poof* no brakes. Kinda scares the wheeeee out of me, kwim? Anyhoo, yesterday Steve decides to deal with the truck and takes the wheels off to look at the brakes to see what was what. Front brakes are fine. Back brakes? There are NONE. Zip. Zilch. Squat. Z.E.R.O. Seized up solid and worn thru.Nothing like finding that out to realize how closely you were taking your life into your own hands…. Anyway, $300 in parts later (OUCH) and 5 hours of screaming , yelling, cursing, F- Bombs, throwing of tools, missing nipples, kicking of trucks and a slew of other bad behaviour….hubby finally got the new brakes and calipers on and working. (I always learn new swear words when hubby is working on my truck…) My truck is becoming the new Lemon. It’s a 1997 ….it’s a Ford (Found On Roadside Dead)….that spells Lemon in some foreign language doesn’t it?  Bwahahahaha

Speaking of designing, I need to pick your brain. Better than your nose, trust me.   Name it and win it…..

I set my alarm last night so I could be up early, have my coffee in peace and quiet and blog. Power went out last night so I slept in and am blogging without the benefit of even a sip of coffee…ROFL!!! It’s going to be a long day….

This week’s blog hop theme is to post your favorite recipe. I had every intention of making my recipe when I woke up this morning, taking a picture and then having some for breakfast but as you know Murphy decided to make a new law… no picture..but here’s the recipe!!

Luscious Lemon Bars

• grated peel from 2 lemons
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 1 cup butter
• 1/2 powdered sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1/3 cups fresh lemon juice
• Powdered sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350*. Grease 9×13-inch pan; set aside. Place 1 teaspoon lemon peel, flour, butter, powdered sugar and salt in food processor. Process until mixture forms coarse crumbs.

2. Press mixture evenly into prepared 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

3. Beat 3 teaspoons lemon peel, granulated sugar, eggs and lemon juice in medium bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until well blended.

4. Pour mixture evenly over warm crust. Return to oven; bake 18 to 20 minutes or until center is set and edges are golden brown. Remove pan to wire rack; cool completely.

5. Dust with powdered sugar; cut into 2×1 1/2-inch bars.

That’s it! I make these and give a batch to teachers for gifts and they all have begged for more AND the recipe. As Martha would say. it’s a good thing!!

Sing along now….

Don’t get me wrong Poobah…I still love Mondays. Today I’m tired though and want to go back to bed. The clouds are covering the sun and I am needing a few days of vitamin D I think. We ALL do. What the heck is up with Mother Nature this year? Clouds, rain, cold….some serious PMS going on there…

Notice the blog change? Yeah. I knew that dark template was short lived. It was pretty but WAY too dark for my tastes. I broke down and bought one from Flergs. Should have done that in the first place but if you know me, you learn that I am a little hard headed…so thank you Megs for saving my sanity!!! Mwah!!

We had a really nice weekend in spite of the weird weather. We went to a friend’s place for dinner on Friday night. Steve did some work for Tony’s mom this summer and she had us over for supper. She made homemade spagetti and homemade sauce with meatballs as big as my kid’s head. It was sooooo good. I love Italian ladies.. they think I’m skinny!!! WAHAHAHA!!!

Anyway on Saturday we had a very lazy day. Steve & Julie played cribbage ALL day and I played in Photoshop and got a ton of work done. I’m hoping my creative funk is over. We’ll find out soon enough! Saturday night, friends of ours came from the city adn joined us at Cayugafest to see some bands. The twon we live in is celebrating it’s 150th birthday so there was a party this weekend. We went and saw a great band called 12-20 Blast. After them was a cover band called Practically Hip. If you’re a Canuck you may have heard of Tragically Hip which are HUGE up here. HUGE. Anyway Practically Hip is a really excellent cover band of the hip. The lead singer even looks and acts and sounds exactly like Gord Downie. It was a BLAST!!!!! After that band was done , it was time for Thunderstruck; an AC/DC cover band. Fun stuff! My daughter was just a rockin’ FOOL!!! Sunday I picked her up from a friend’s where she slept over and then took her to a different friend’s for a pizza/pool party. (my kid has a busier social life than I do) Sunday night Steve went back to work after being off on a few days holidays and Julie and I just vegged. (I didn’t tell her about the fireworks display to end the Cayugafest party..my bad…NOT)
