Hiya folks!!

I usually don’t blog on weekends but I am not sure if I’m going to have time or internet tomorrow. I have the guys coming (I hope) tomorrow to set me up with wireless cable. To keep myself occupied while I can’t surf, I’m going to  burn a mess of DVDs & clean off the desktop. I only have 10 G of space left, so it HAS to be done. I usually don’t download kits etc but this month I have been grabbing a pile of great kits from the SYTYCD entrants. Filled up my drive FAST but I now have an assortment of fabulous stuff to scrap with. I didn’t download everything…just the stuff that really appealed to me and that I knew I would use. During the Beatles week, I only downloaded four kits. All were lovely but I wasn’t going to download for 8 hours only to have to find a photo online so I could scrap with an octopus…kwim Vern? Seemed silly. Same with this week. I only grabbed three. They all are gorgeous however!

Had a great weekend. Went to Julie’s track & field day at her school on Friday and Steve took some nice shots. Mandie, I will upload yours on Tuesday and email ya the links! Hopefully I can scrap a few pages this week. I am taking the summer off from designing (or will try to anyway) so I can scrap more. My CT can also catch up and have some time with their families. :D I will still have kits going into the store over the course of the summer, but I’m not going to stress myself  out over “producing”.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Steve’s aunt and uncles and had a HUGE turkey dinner. Came home stuffed to the gills and three sheets to the wind thanks to a few bottles of wine that me and Aunt ‘Retta got into. :P Fell asleep on the couch during a thunderstorm and got sent to bed early too! LOL!! It was a really nice time however. The next one will be here under the pergola. :D

Today I have to go to Caledonia to buy our tickets for Julie’s dance recital, then take Julie to a play date and I’m hoping to get a head start on my desktop purge while she’s gone.

I knew I forgot to bog about something on Friday….I was in such a rush. My bad. :P Have you picked up the gorgeous collab that Kim and Jenni did? OMFG!!!!! I fell in LOVE with this kit!!! Images are linked.

I had a chance to play with this HUGE kit and I just barely touched on the goodies in this thing!!!

Hopin’ to get a few more LOs done this week. We’ll see how energetic I feel. :P

Well folks I guess I have jabbered on enough today so I’m going to kick my butt in gear and start burning stuff on the desktop. Keep your fingers crossed that wireless cable gets installed tomorrow!!! Wheeeeeeee!!!!

Not going to stay and blog too long today. I have a busy day today. Julie has her track and field events at the school today (we hope. They cancelled yesterday because of soggy ground.) She is super excited and always has a blast at these events. It’s mandatory for each kid in the school to participate in 3 events. She has signed up for four. I’m going to watch her this morning for a few events. I also have to make 2 desserts for tomorrow. We are going to Steve’s Uncle Al’s again for another turkey dinner and I’m making an apple pie and an angel food cake /berry concoction. (I didn’t realize how expensive raspberries & blackberries were. OUCH!)

Marilyn, cake in a coffee mug was just the right amount of cake and very fudgy. I didn’t add any Baileys’ etc because I didn’t want soggy cake but it was a wonderful treat with my cup of Timmy’s!!! :D

I also have to vaccuum the pool/swamp. (can you see my expression of sheer joy?!! NOT! :P )

Anyhow I’m just going to drop a freebie and run or I will be here all day!!

It’s Thursday right? I feel light I have been hit by a bus. Me thinks my dip in the pool the other day in the cold and wind and 55* water is having a negative effect on me. I can’t warm up. Yesterday as soon as Julie got on the school bus, I curled up on the couch with a  cat tucked in behind my butt, another one stretched out against my belly and we slept until 10-ish. I was scooping more leaves yesterday out of the pool but what’s left is just little bits, so when you try to scoop them out you end up making a bigger mess than what was there so I had to stop and let everything settle. Today it’s supposed to thunderboom all day and if you think I’m going out with a  14 foot pole in a thunderboomer…you’re nuts. ROFL! I’ll get the waders on tomorrow and vaccuum the rest out and then shock it, clarify it and throw in a magic copper algae puck and by the end of the weekend it will be sparkling blue again. I swear we can write a damn book now on what NOT to do when opening and closing the pool. (I did torment him a little bit yesterday because I made a batch of extra spicy chili just for him. He thought it was damn tasty and then endded up spending his evening on the “throne” thereby allowing me to have the remote all night. Bwahahahaha. Dont mess with my pool buddy.)

Well I’m off to have coffee and make chocolate cake in a coffee mug for breakfast. I love it when Shaz figures out new ways for my hips to expand…. ROFL!!!

WAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Have a good day!!!

Let me just say that I am soooooo glad that Tuesday is behind me. Tuesday sucked the big one.

Yesterday started off by me having to call Microsoft. Not my favoritest thing to do but hey …ya deal with it. I got Mujibur(not his real name) somewhere in India and he was quick and to the point and helped me out with hardly any problems. My last experience with someone in India involved plenty of frustration, hardly any English experience on Muji’s part and me losing my mind with plenty of F bombs. Why Microsoft insists on having people work customer service lines with the barest minimum command of the English language is beyond me. Anyhoo, Mujibur yesterday was in control and was pleasant too. Then my day went down the toilet. Fast.

A wee bit of background history first. Steve and I don’t argue. Or rarely argue. We really only get into heated “discussions” twice a year. Once when we open the pool and once when we close it.  Things get ugly, things get said, I get so mad I could spit and then we get apologize and get over it and laugh about it an hour later. That’s how we roll. It isn’t pretty but for those 2 days we’re venomous.

Yesterday was pool opening day. For the last 6 weeks I have been nagging Steve to pump off the water off the winter cover because there was just soooooo much of it. He did it 6 weeks ago but we’ve had some dandy downpours since then. Didn’t get around to it. Fast forward to yesterday. We have a load of water coming so it HAS to be done. What normally takes 45 minutes was taking an extremely long amount of time and the water level was lower than normal. It’s freakin’ windy out. Not a good day to be playing with tarps anyway but we had no choice because the water truck was coming, ok? SOMEONE and it wasn’t me unhooked the tarps to see what the problem was in the pool that the water level was down. Wind gets ahold of tarps and there is me frantically stratching myself silly to grab as much tarp as I can before it goes INTO the pool and drains all the winter sludge from the top of the cover into the pool. The slop on top that is full of leaves, silt, bird poop and a slew of other crap I don’t want in my pool.Smells like the ass end of a large animal. Get the idea? Know where this is going yet? Well it turns out, SOMEONE (not me) discovered that he had drained half of the pool somehow and in his panic to get the cover off, emptied the ENTIRE amount of slop INTO the pool. My crystal clear pool now was now full of rotting leaves, mud, shit and was a puky shade of green. I saw RED. He’s screaming at me  and I’m biting what I want to say back because I knew if I opened my mouth I would say something I would have to take back. He now figures out that he forgot all about the 60 pounds of weights he had put onto the winter cover to keep it from flapping in the wind. SOMEONE (that would be me) had to go into the pool to get them out. “Girls” were perky and nipples almost shattered off let me tell ya. It was FREAKIN cold. That did nothing to cool off my temper. It just fueled it on because now I smell like the ass end of a large animal which really pissed me off because I just had a shower less than an hour ago. In I go into the pool, grab each weight and fire them on the deck, screaming obsenities with each of the six weights. Get out of the pool, strip nekked on my deck, stomp into the house to get dry clothes, coffee and spew off some more. I didn’t care if my neighbors saw my pasty, lumpy ass stark nekked….I was in a MOOD. :P Water delivery comes & it took 2 loads to fill the pool. Not one. Eighty dollars extra mistake and an extra 3 days of work for me in the pool wearing my neighbor’s chest waders scooping leaves and vacuuming up the slop. I am still not exactly laughing about it but the red mist has gone and I can talk to Steve again without wondering what he’d look like if his head was removed from his body. ROFL!!! It wasn’t pretty. I still can’t bring myself to take a picture of it because it still makes me rippin’ mad.

After that fiasco, I had a nap because I had the chills ,scrapped, made supper, did the groceries and then got a call from my mom that my Nanny had been moved to a nursing home and she was OK. Her dementia has progressed to the point where she needs medical attention. She doesn’t remember her family most times but she is always happy and cracking everyone up.

So that was my day. Not much to write about but I did anyway. Now I need some Photoshop therapy. I’m not ready to get into the chest waders yet dammit….

Ugh.

but not too hard or I will pee. ROFL!!

Remember my plan or making cinnamon pinwheels? Didn’t happen. Got my hot little hands on something so incredibly stunning, I can’t even begin to tell you. It was THAT stunning!!! :D So yesterday instead of baking, I scrapped. I played with one damn drop shadow for 2 hours until I was happy with it. LOL I can’t show ya though…Neener Neener. ROFL!!! Just let me say this. If you don’t grab this product when it becomes available you will KICK yourself in the AZZ!!! Just sayin’…. :P

What else did I do yesterday? Talked to my BFF on the phone. Thought about opening the pool but decided not to. Opening it today because a truckload of water is being delivered today. Steve is daring me to go swimming to perk up the girls. Supervised Steve on his rock job. Here’s some pics of the slow goings…

img_2038

He built everything from scratch. He cut and welded the firebox in March and it’s been sitting taking up garage space since then. We have about 200 rocks scattered all over the yard.

img_2042

Slow going I tell ya. You can really only do one row at a time. Otherwise it’s too much weight and the rocks fall off. So we do a row, let the cement dry a day and do another row. The top 1/3 of this fireplace contains all the copper piping from the redneck pool heater he built last year. Instead of heating the pool with the BBQ, we’ll heat the pool by fire .

img_2043

Connie, he told me to do something rude here!!!! When it’s done it’s going to be gorgeous. He thinks we’ll have to get some more rocks from the field. Guess we need to take the tractor for a drive. :P I wonder if the cat would join us for THAT adventure?! Hmmmmmmmm

Well I’m going to sign off for now and get some coffee and get my shit together for the day. Have a good one!!

is still in weekend mode. LOL!! Or maybe it has just moved into summer vacation mode. Soaked up some sun, soaked up some margueritas and had a great time! LOL! Steve worked nights this weekend so I went to bed early and hogged the entire bed. Whee!!! I’d love to tell you that I designed all weekend but I scrapped one LO and that is as far as I got!! Maybe this week I’ll open up Photoshop and see if a color swatch inspires me. Then again, maybe not. We’re opening up the pool sometime today ( I hope) and will hopefully have a load of water for it sometime in the next few days. Steve is hoping to start heating it by the weekend (it all depends on how much stone he has on the fireplace…) I will post a picture tomorrow so you can understand what I’m talking about…

What am I doing today? Power washing more rocks from the field and maybe some baking. I am craving some of my mom’s cinnamon pinwheels and I actually have all the ingredients.

Hope you have a great day!!
